I’ve always been passionate about skincare because I’ve lived it. As a young girl, I watched family members struggle with acne, visiting dermatologist after dermatologist, only to face side effects from medications that didn’t address the root cause. The lack of understanding and the endless cycle of temporary fixes left me wondering: Why is this happening?

At 13, it was my turn. I was faced with the same struggle—acne that seemed to appear out of nowhere. I approached my dermatologist with pictures, detailed notes, and a genuine curiosity about what was happening with my skin. Unfortunately, I was quickly dismissed. “It’s just teenage acne,” they said. Five minutes in and out, no real discussion, just another prescription for something that would only cover up the problem, not solve it.

The result? Irritated, burning skin and no explanation for what was happening. When the medication stopped, the acne came back, because it was never truly treated. It was a band-aid solution, not a real answer.
